How to set yourself up for success.
As you might have heard or been smart enough to guess, weight loss is the number one resolution Americans make each year. So, how can this year be different than last year?
Here are some keys to success:
Set realistic goals. If you didn’t read about how to establish realistic fitness goals then check out the BLOG about this.
Have a support structure in place. This means co-workers, family, friends and anyone else who can help you with your goal. Tell them what you want to do and ask them for their help in achieving it. Your instructor is the first persons you should tell. Make them aware of your goals so they can push you towards them. Share your goals with your fellow clients and ask them for their help or better yet, find someone in your class that has the same goal and work towards it together!
Be Patient. Many will give up to soon because they have unrealistic expectations and when they don’t see results, they quit. If you are doing all the right things, including being consistent with your workout (and be honest with yourself) you WILL see results.
Set yourself up for success. Think about the things that you do or don’t do on a daily basis that help or hinder your success. If you need to cut out the sugar in your diet, then stop buying the sodas and cookies. As a matter of fact, go home tonight and throw all the sweets and bad food away, PERIOD, no excuses. In two weeks, I promise, you won’t crave it anymore.
If you travel a lot, look for a hotel with a workout facility or a pool, and take clothes and a workout program (which can be provided by your CFC trainer) that you can use while there.
If you are enrolled in the ‘OC’, don’t let things like bad weather, heavy work loads or laziness get in the way of reaching your goals. Get into a routine and stick to it because when the going gets tough you NEED the workouts and an established routine to help you though those times. Make smart decisions and set yourself up for success!
There are going to be a few people who read this and really take it to heart. They are going to realize that they do want to change their lifestyles and have a better quality of life. They are going to take the advice here and work hard at it.
