Outdoor Conditioning
Do I have to be in shape to do this program?
The simplest answer is, NO. Our only rule is that if you can walk then you can do this program. We want to help you get into shape. Do not try to avoid our class because you aren’t in shape. Let us help you get there, the right way!
Is this a ‘Boot Camp’ Program? (Are you going to yell at me? Do I have to wear Army clothes? Is my instructor going to be mean to me?)
NO, we really want you to come back the next day so we aren’t going to be mean to you. However, we are going to push you and encourage you to work hard but we aren’t there to train you for the Army or the Marines. We just want you to get into better shape!
I can’t run – will I be left behind or will I hold the class back?
Neither, You are allowed to walk and you likely won't be the only walker in the class! Everyone works at his/her own pace, no matter what pace that is, so you can’t hold anyone back.
What if I have an injury? (bad knee, bad back, etc)
Our trainers are experts at modifications. Every exercise we offer in our program has two modifications: one to make it harder and another to make it easier. So, no matter what injury or symptom you may have, we can work with you to find a modification that you can do so that you continue to see results!
Do I have to attend all the classes?
The more classes you attend the quicker you’ll get into better shape. If you miss classes we will ask about you in concern but we won’t be pounding on your door looking for you.
How does the enrollment process work?
Basically, clients are enrolling for a certain number of sessions per month. Clients can use those sessions however they wish (for example, you can sign up for 2 days/week but show up 4 times in one week and none the next). All sessions do expire at the end of the month; no sessions will carry over into the following month.
How long am I signed up?
All commitments to the OC program are month to month.
What do I bring to class?
All you need to bring is a mat or towel to lay on and something to drink, like Gatorade. It is important to have the right clothing as well. This includes a good pair of running shoes and dressing in layers. (Our web site has a link to all the running shoe stores in the area.)
What is a typical day in class?
There are no typical days…everyday is different and every week is different. As soon as you think you’ve figured out the routine, we completely change everything. However, some of the normal exercises you can count on include: push ups, situps, jumping jacks, lunges, squats, and using exercise bands to do: chest presses, military presses, rows, etc.
Do you publish a workout schedule?
No, we do not want you to know what we are doing on a day to day basis. Why? Because if you hate running and you know Wednesdays are running days, guess what day you won't be in class?!
What does ‘a customized’ workout mean?
One size does not fit all! We do not use a ‘cookie-cutter’ approach when it comes to your fitness here at CFC. Our programs are well-rounded to target all the aspects of fitness to include:
- Free weights, band resistance and manual resistance to increase your muscle tone and strength
- Cardio and agility exercises to reduce your fat and increase your cardiovascular stamina and coordination
- Yoga and Pilates moves to promote your balance, stability and increase your core body strength
- CFC also has strategic partnerships with Nutrition Experts to compliment our fitness routines and increase your results
- We also use numerous training variables to keep each routine fresh and challenging, ensuring you reach your fitness goals faster. These training variables also allow us to work with any client at any fitness level. We are able to push the stronger more fit clients while providing modifications for those who aren’t as capable.
Personal Training
What does Personal Training cost?
CFC designed the Personal Training Program to Fit Your Lifestyle – that includes affordability. Prices are based on an hourly rate. Generally, our rates are comparable to most gyms and health clubs and when you take into account that CFC does not charge initiation fees or monthly membership dues, we are significantly cheaper! This is a superior value when you consider that we come to you! Click here to visit our Pricing Page.
What happens next?
Fill out the Request Information Form and a CFC manager will contact you to review your information. We will pass on all the necessary information to the trainer who best suits your needs. The trainer will then contact you and set up your initial consultation. From there, your trainer will work with you to help you reach your fitness goals! If you ever have any questions or concerns, you can always reach a CFC manager by emailing Info@CustomFitnessConcepts.com or calling 1-877-598-0530.
What if I want a trainer to meet me at my gym?
Most gyms (large chain gyms like Gold’s or Sport and Health) will not allow outside trainers in their facilities, so we would not be able to assist those persons in their gyms. However, we could work with them in another environment and assist them with a program that they can do on their own.
What certifications do CFC trainers carry?
Some of our trainers have national certification but most do not. These national certifications have limitations. The biggest limitation is that they only train trainers to work in traditional environments (i.e. gyms with lots of equipment). CFC trainers go through an extensive training process that teaches them not only the best ways to work the muscles but also proper program design and how to work in non-traditional environments including the outdoors and in homes where no equipment is available.
