The CFC Striking and Conditioning Program has become a huge 'hit'. We’ve decided to run the program every Tuesday and Saturday from now until the end of August. Starting in Sept, we are going to increase to three days/week by offering the program on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Saturday's!
This is a co-ed program is derived from martial arts. We do no sparring (fighting) and we are not training anyone is a specific form of martial arts. Instead this program is designed to be a high intensity workout using techniques found in the martial arts to include: punching and kicking pads designed for such purpose as well as a lot of jump roping, sprinting, push-ups and other intense exercises.
This program is designed to shed body fat and increase your aerobic capacity (one very active participant burns close to 1000 calories each time he participates). Due to the intensity of this program a base level of fitness is required, but if you’ve been in the OC program or have been working out consistently (three days/week) for a couple months, you are probably good to go.
So, if you think you can handle this; here are the details:

Special equipment will be necessary to participate. Below is a list of the equipment you will need and some strong suggestions of other things that you may want to purchase prior to attending the firstclass. Please feel free to shop around to find a better price.
Gloves: do not skimp on good gloves! Gloves will protect your wrists and knuckles as well as allow you the dexterity to do all the other things that we will be doing in class (e.g. push ups, medicine ball drills, holding pads, etc).

Jump Rope: CFC will provide jump ropes for everyone, but we will be using a cheaper brand. If you want to bring your own rope, please feel freeto do so.
Mat: When we do abdominal exercises, you’ll want something under your hands and tailbone. Don’t try to be a ‘tough guy’ and not bring a mat.
You will NOT need head gear, a mouth piece and guys will not need a cup.
If you have any further questions/concerns about the program, please feel free to contact us. Please feel free to pass this onto anyone you think might be interested.
